various singles weights for weaving

These yarns are spun from the best Mongolian fibre, mostly by Johnstons of Elgin, for weaving, typically into those gorgeous cashmere fabrics that only get softer with age and wear (usually luxury scarves in natural colors). For this reason they are tight spun and because they are also singles they have an unbalanced twistiness that can be a challenge to a knitter, though a challenge that can be worked around. They bloom mostly with wear, not much on initial washing. For hand weavers, a superb yarn... the thicker yarns also sometimes have a softer slubby structure..

The 1/14NM yarns these give 2,300 yards per cone, 7,000 yards per lb, and should give around 32-36 stitches on a 4 inch swatch, using US 2-5, 2.5-3.75 mm needles.
