cashmere/lurex and cashmere/lycra cobweb weight

The cashmere/lurex yarns are italian spun, 85% cashmere and 15% lurex to give some sparkle. The cashmere/lycra is Scottish (Todd & Duncan) spun cashmere/lycra, which is 88% cashmere, 11% nylon and 1% lycra. Both yarns are very fine but the 2 ply construction means they are balanced yarns and the lurex or nylon filament strengthens them.

cashmere/lurex and cashmere/lycra cobweb weight

At 2/40 NM the cashmere/lurex yarns give 3,300 yards per cone, 10,000 yards per lb. The cash/lycra is a 2/48NM yarn, giving about 4,000 yards per cone, 12,000 yards per lb. As 3 plies these yarns are about our 4ply weight equivalent, as 6 plies about our dk weight and we will wind them up to thicker yarns for free... and note we can do any number of plies on any number of cones, ie you CAN buy 1 cone of 8 plied yarn if you wish..
