2/20NM heavy lace weight tight spun

These yarns are spun from the best Mongolian cashmere fibres by Johnstons of Elgin, one of the top cashmere mills in Scotland and the world. The DK weight yarns we sell from Johnstons are some of our softest and fluffiest, but these 2/20Nm yarns are more tightly spun and so seem less fluffy, though they are still soft enough and get softer with wear. As balanced 2ply yarns they are excellent for knitting too, but they also have very good weaving properties... and the tighter spinning makes them tougher than you might expect..

As 2/20NM yarns these give 1,650 yards per cone, 5,000 yards per lb, and should give around 30-34 stitches on a 4 inch swatch, using US 4-6, 2.75-3.75 mm needles. Note that some of these yarns came in on smaller cones, if you buy from the last two or three cones shown you will definitely get at least as much yarn as you pay for but it may arrive wound on one or two extra cones.. as with all our yarns, we will wind multiple strands of these yarns onto cone for no extra charge, just put a note on your payment...
